STAFF QUALIFICATIONS
Working at
Little STEAMers Academy
Our teachers participate in orientation and ongoing training in the areas of child growth and development, healthy and safe environments, developmentally appropriate practices, positive guidance, family relationships, cultural and individual diversity, and professionalism.
Our teachers are hired in compliance with Washington State requirements and qualifications as a base minimum.
Typical staff certifications are as follows:
Lead Teacher
Training/Certification:
- Min. of 2 years experience as Lead Teacher or similar role
- WA State ECE Short Certificate
- Infant/Child CPR & First Aid
- Safe Sleep
- Food Handler Card
- Blood Borne Pathogens & HIV/AIDS training
- Childcare Basics (30 hrs)
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification
- Portable Background Check/Fingerprinting
- MMR Vaccine
- TB Test
Assistant Teacher
Training/Certification:
- Min. of 2 years experience as Assistant Teacher or similar role
- WA State ECE Initial Certificate
- Infant/Child CPR & First Aid
- Safe Sleep
- Food Handler Card
- Blood Borne Pathogens & HIV/AIDS training
- Childcare Basics (30 hrs)
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification

Center AIDE
Training/Certification:
